FAQ

Why is my Discoveries feed empty?

You almost certainly have no scrobble link. Media has the play history; it cannot tell which of it is yours.

Why did re-importing my library not fill the Added feed?

Because "added" uses Plex's timestamp for when the album entered the library, not when Media last saw it. That is deliberate — otherwise every rescan would flood the feed with your entire collection.

An album I have owned for years showed up as a discovery

That is correct. Discoveries means first ever played, not newly acquired.

My manual correction disappeared

Enrichment overwrites values supplied by sources. Corrections need to happen upstream or in the matching rules. See Sources.

Two pressings of the same album show as one

That is the canonical layer working as intended. If two genuinely different releases have been merged, an admin can split them in Administration → Duplicates.

An album says it is linked but will not play

Linked and playable are different facts. The Plex item is known but currently missing or unreachable. See Canonical records.

Data has stopped updating

Check Administration → Task history. A scheduled job that failed to register at start-up never runs and is silent about it — task history is what distinguishes "never ran" from "ran and failed".

What is deemon?

A separate, third-party project that happens to live alongside Media. It is not part of the product and is not documented here.

Media — Blue Sapphire Software.
