Radio

A station is an endless sequence drawn from your own library, so everything it plays is something you can actually hear.

Starting one

Press ▶ on almost anything. A station can be seeded six ways:

Seed	Starts from
Artist	That artist and what sits close to them
Artist (deep)	The same artist, reaching further into the back catalogue
Album	The feel of one record
Track	One song
Genre	A reconciled genre from your library
Mood	Audio characteristics rather than genre labels — see Discover

There is also a text seed: describe what you want and Media picks a starting point from it.

Teaching it

Two controls, and they do different things:

• Thumb up / thumb down — an explicit judgement on the current track. This is the strong signal.
• Favourite — saves the track to your favourites and tells the station.

Skips count too, and when you skip matters. Skipping after the first thirty seconds reads as mild disinterest; skipping before that is a strong negative. Letting a track finish is a quiet positive.

Sessions

A station is a session, and it persists. Close the tab, come back, and Recent stations offers to resume where you were rather than starting over.

Stopping a session ends it; resuming picks up the same seed and history.

When a station will not start

Media refuses rather than producing a bad station when the seed does not have enough to draw on — a small library, a seed nothing else resembles, or too little listening history to judge similarity yet. Pick a broader seed, or come back once more of the library is indexed.

Discoveries

Stations surface things you own but have not played. Discoveries collects what radio turned up, so a good station leaves something behind rather than scrolling past. Dismiss anything you are not interested in.
